Support for Unison
Today's County Times carries a letter from Bruce Milton, the acting branch secretary of the Horsham branch of Unison, responding to comments made by councillor Philip Circus.
Mr. Milton points out that, far from being cocooned from the effects of recession, staff at the town hall have already suffered more than most with cutbacks and wage freezes.
Horsham Labour party would like to offer its support to Unison members at Horsham district council, indeed to all the staff there, who are being increasingly overworked while being unappreciated by at least one councillor.
The chair of Horsham Labour has written to Mr. Morton along those lines, and has also invited him to come along to one of our constituency meetings to talk to members of the party about the situation at the town hall, so that we can be better informed abotu what is going on and how we can help.
If any other unions or other organisations would like to be a guest speaker at one of our constituency meetings then they should get in touch with us.
