What is so 'broken'?

Horsham Labour Party member, Ray Battersby, responded to an article by the Tory leader of West Sussex County Council in this letter which was printed in today's West Sussex County Times.

Francis Maude's expenses

On October 16th Horsham's MP, Francis Maude, revealed that he would not be required by Sir Thomas Legg to repay any of his parliamentary expenses.

Our prospective parliamentary candidate, Andrew Skudder, wrote a response to this, which the West Sussex County Times have not published.

No clarity on expenses

This week parliament published the long-awaited details of parliamentary expenses and Horsham's MP included a link to his expenses on his web site. The intention of all this was to provide greater transparency and for us, the public, to see how our money is being spent.
