Members of Horsham Labour Party met with a cross-party group of councillors and council officers last week to discuss the Council’s response to Horsham Labour Party’s housing petition.

HLP Chair David Hide and Secretary Ray Chapman delivered a petition to Horsham District Council today containing more than 650 signatures, all demanding that the Council deliver a minimum of 40% affordable housing on the West of Horsham development.

Postal strikes in Horsham

The West Sussex County Times this week carried several stories about the strike by CWU members working for Royal Mail.

The first contained interviews with striking workers at the Storrington Delivery Office, voicing their concerns about the future of the service and for themselves.

Horsham CLP Secretary, Ray Chapman wrote to the West Sussex County Times, to raise concerns about the handling of maintenance works at the Forum.

Labour's Candidates' Nomination Success

Ray Chapman, Secretary of Horsham Labour Party, today welcomed the successful nomination of all 14 Labour candidates standing in Horsham for the West Sussex County Elections to be held on 4th June 2009.

Andrew Skudder, PPC for Horsham

Horsham CLP members selected Andrew Skudder to be their prospective parliamentary candidate at the next general election.

Andrew has not stood in a parliamentary election before, but has been a candidate in several borough council elections and served four years as a borough councillor for Broadfield in Crawley.
